Rhonda Mills

Classes: Yoga

Training/Background: Rhonda has a life-long love of movement, and has many years experience teaching movement and dance to people of all ages.  She teaches Tantric Hatha and Ayurvedic Yoga Classes, with an emphasis on supporting individuals with specific practices to bring healing, balance, and integration to body, mind, heart, and spirit, and sometimes assists her teacher, Yogiraj Rod Stryker, in his teacher trainings. She is a certification applicant with the Center for Nonviolent Communication
(CNVC), a process which supports enhancing relationships, personal growth, and joyful living.  Rhonda teaches classes and workshops in Yoga, NVC, and movement to people of all ages, and leads a monthly women’s spiritual gathering, drawing from NVC, meditation, tantric energy practices, and movement.  She is inspired to work with women and girls who are “on the edges” of our culture, who have experience violence in their lives, and supporting them to find another way.  She creates events where people utilize empathy, one of the components of NVC, to heal social divisions—such as male/female, African-American/Caucasion, sexuality, etc.

Passion:  learning, movement, family, and play.

Fitness Philosophy: Supporting people to find the right practices to meet current needs, which change over time.  Rhonda draws from practices of yoga asana or poses, relaxation, visualization, and meditation to support the body (strong, flexible muscles, healthy bones and organs); the mind (concentration, relaxation, and cultivating joy); the soul (self-expression and creativity); and overall well-being and integration.
